Answer: The artists were dropped as part of Curb's campaign to discredit musicians who had supposedly advocated drug use in their songs. By some strange coincidence, virtually all of the released acts had ceased generating profits for the company. Curb was praised by then-POTUS Richard Nixon for his intrepid anti-drug crusade.
